Joan with Sunmaker
Joan with Sunmaker, a rescued friend
Equine Outreach Inc. was founded by Joan Steelhammer, a top Bend, Oregon Real Estate Broker, with the assistance of her husband, Realtor and contractor Gary Everett.

Non-Profit Organization
Equine Outreach Inc. is a registered non-profit organization working closely with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Department, several other sheriffs in central and eastern Oregon, the Forest Service, BLM, local Humane Societies, other equine organizations and local veterinarians. EOI is a horse rescue, shelter, and caretaker organization.

Equine Outreach Inc. gets a new home!
Joan & Gary recently purchased a 20 acre mini-ranch near the Bend airport to house EOI's operations. With the help of many volunteers they have made numerous improvements to the property.  New fences have been installed, water and power have been installed to each water tank, new shelters have been constructed, a medical room and tack room were recently completed and signs have been installed.  You are welcome to stop by for a tour of our facilities.  There are several volunteers that help care for the horses.

To facilitate the rescue, rehabilitation and permanent placement of abused, neglected and unwanted horses and mules.  To promote equine awareness and to foster community compassion for responsible equine guardianship.
