SUCCESS STORY: Local Farm Uses Equine Outreach Horse Manure To Grow Crops
Juniper Jungle's farming practices are customer certified, natural, and influenced by permaculture and biodynamic principles, a more holistic approach to agriculture. They accomplish this in part by fertilizing with horse manure from Equine Outreach, composting and tilling it into the soil for their crops.
Juniper Jungle energetically focuses on soil enrichment due to the challenges of farming in the high desert. The steps they take to improve the growing environment include: adding plant debris and nutrients with compost, use of mulch to control water and nutrient evaporation, use of nitrogen fixing crops, and efficient water management.
