Prospect Horses |
|
Prospect horses are horses that are physically sound, have had some groundwork training, and may have been trained to accept a saddle, bridle, and/or rider, but need additional time with a trainer to become confident and reliable riding horses. They may have had training in the past, but need a tune-up. Equine Outreach makes no guarantee of a horse's level of training or soundness.
The adoption fee for a Prospect horse is $525. This fee includes the $25 adoption application fee. We strongly recommend that you have the horse independently vet checked and evaluated by your trainer, especially if you have limited training experience. We make every effort to have adopted horses be up-to-date on their vaccinations, worming and farrier work.

BonBon
Mare Thoroughbred 1994 15.3 hh Bon Bon is as-sweet-as-can-be and gets along well with people, kids, dogs and other horses. She has fantastic ground manners. BonBon has a lip tattoo, indicating that she was a race horse at some point in her life. Thankfully, her racing days are over now. She needs continued training, but would love to give you the pleasure of a nice, easy ride. |

Hank
Gelding Pony/QH 1998 (est.) 14 hh Hank was surrendered in 2010. He was adopted but came back recently when his adopters got in a financial crisis. He was a bit skinny but has filled out nicely. Hank is very sweet and anxious to please. He halters well and stands nicely tied to be groomed as well as for the farrier. He has been ridden in the past but due to back issue would need a lightweight rider (child or small adult) and a restart. |

Jasmine
Mare Arabian 2004 15hh Jasmine and her two yearlings were rescued in 2018. Her yearlings have been adopted and now Jasmine is looking for her forever home. She has good ground manners. Halters and leads well. Stands nicely to be groomed and have her feet picked. She is rideable just needs more time to finish her training. |

Rose
Mare Thoroughbred (Registered, "Clonakilty Rose") 2001 15.3 hh Rose is a registered Thoroughbred who raced in California under the name of "Clonakilty Rose". Rose can be a bit nervous and distracted and needs to work on space. She can lead and pick up her feet for the farrier, but not great. She needs someone that is able to care for her and continue to provide consistent training to help her blossom. Could that be you? |
Rosie participated in Rescue Revolution 2016 with Equine Outreach Trainer Norma Horak.

Sassy
Mare Thoroughbred 2002 15.3 hh Sassy is a sweet and lovable horse that really needs someone to adopt her and give her the forever home she deserves. With a friendly and curious spirit, she needs someone to care for her one-on-one that she can bond with. Is that someone you? |
|
Violet
Mare Thoroughbred 1994 est 16.1 hh Violet is very friendly and people oriented, always craving attention. She halters, leads, backs, moves to pressure, and has been under saddle. She is still considered very green broke and would need an experienced trainer/rider. |
